MMM gives out N1.2Million naira to orphanage

In spite of the recent lull in the activities of online businesses in the country, MMM Nigeria has continued to make philanthropic donations to some organizations.
One of such acts of philanthropy was the recent cash donation of N1.2m to an orphanage, Kingdom Kids Klub, based in Jos, Plateau State.
According to Guilder Istifanus, the donation was made to the orphanage, which was founded on February 4, 2006, by MMM (Abuja Chapter), based on request for help.
Istifanus told newsmen during the presentation of the cash donation in Jos that when the orphanage made a request for financial assistance, MMM (Nigeria) simply paired it up with a couple of participants who willingly provided the needed financial help using their spare money until the needed amount was realized.
Sandra Chikan, founder of the orphanage home, thanked MMM for the donation, saying with the cash, Kingdom Kids Club has been able to achieve its goal for Project Hope (Helping Orphans Pursue Excellence).
She said, ‘‘we have bought sewing machines for the centre, we have set up poultry and painted the exterior of our home. This gesture has put a smile on our faces and we know that someone out there cares for the orphaned child.’’
MMM is an online financial community where participants provide financial help to one another based on request. Participants are always advised to use their spare money to provide help.
Following the shutting down of the website of the community last December and its subsequent re-opening this year, the momentum of participation is no longer what it used to be though some participants say nothing has changed.
Rose Layo, a participant, based in Abuja, said that the scheme is more fraud-proof now as participants are better guided on how to request for help and also provide help.
